Frequently Asked Questions
How much do static bollards cost?
Static bollards typically cost £250–£500 fully installed, depending on size, material, and quantity. They're the most affordable permanent security option. We provide free quotes for your specific requirements.
What are static bollards used for?
Static bollards are used wherever you need a permanent vehicle barrier — boundary edges, driveway entrances, pedestrian zones, shopfronts, or to protect walls and buildings from vehicle impact. They're not designed to be moved.
What's the difference between static and removable bollards?
Static bollards are permanently fixed and cannot be moved. Removable bollards can be lifted out of a ground socket when you need vehicle access. If you need to drive through occasionally, choose removable or telescopic instead.
What materials are static bollards available in?
We supply static bollards in powder-coated steel, stainless steel, pine, oak, and galvanised steel. Stainless steel offers the best corrosion resistance and premium appearance; powder-coated options come in various colours.
Do static bollards require maintenance?
No — static bollards have no moving parts and require virtually zero maintenance. Stainless steel models stay looking good for decades; powder-coated steel may need occasional touch-up paint in high-wear areas.
How are static bollards installed?
We core drill a hole in your driveway, set the bollard in concrete, and leave it to cure. The bollard is fully secure within 24–48 hours. Some models bolt down to a baseplate instead of being concreted in.
Can static bollards withstand vehicle impact?
Standard static bollards deter casual intrusion but aren't rated for ram-raiding. If you need impact-tested security (e.g., for commercial premises), we supply PAS 68 and IWA 14 rated bollards designed to stop vehicles at speed.
How long does static bollard installation take?
Most static bollard installations take under an hour per bollard. The concrete needs 24–48 hours to fully cure, but you can use the area immediately for pedestrian access.
