Most cars stolen from homes are taken from the driveway without the keys: a relay device copies the signal from a keyless fob inside the house, and the car is gone in under a minute. A locked post in front of it means it can’t be driven away, however the thief got in.
Around 4 in 10 Weybridge households (42%) have two or more cars. If both are on the drive, one post placed across the only way out, or one in front of each car, keeps them both where you left them.
88% of households in Weybridge have a car or van, so most drives here are in use every night. A security post locks the car in place overnight and drops flush in the morning.

Your council is Elmbridge Borough Council. Here’s what to know locally, and where to go if someone blocks your drive.
Local parking
Roads close to Weybridge town centre, such as Elmgrove Road and Oakdale Road, have resident permit parking because residents with little off-street parking faced undue competition from non-residents for kerbside space. Surrey County Council has noted that the parking Weybridge lacks most is free long-stay parking for people who work in the town.

“We had 2 telescopic security posts fitted just before Christmas & are so pleased with the whole process. Very professional & clean. Flo was very patient with me asking lots of questions and didn’t pressure us into a decision.”
“We were in need of an urgent Installation of a security bollard. Wentworth Protection offered a fantastic service and couldn't do enough to support us and fit the bollard first thing the next morning. Tony the fitter was friendly, professional and efficient. Excellent service and product. Would definitely recommend this company.”
“Initially got in touch with James and he was such a professional, had a chat about Security Bollards, well impressed and fitted 4 days later by Dean, very impressed, really knew his job, fitted bollards, explained the workings left the site clean and tidy. As I said impressed, definitely 5 stars.”
A raised, locked security post in front of your car stops it being driven off the drive, even if a thief has got in or copied a keyless fob. With 42% of Weybridge households running two or more cars, we often fit one post per car. It’s the layer that still works when alarms and trackers don’t.
The same as everywhere we work. Fully fitted, telescopic security posts start from £799, heavy-duty from £949, automatic bollards from £2,999 and parking posts from £310. Every price includes fitting, concrete, drainage, making good and a full clean-up.

Usually not, for a bollard on your own drive. If your home is listed or in a conservation area, check with Elmbridge Borough Council first.
If they’re on the road across your dropped kerb, contact Surrey County Council, and ask Surrey County Council about an H-bar marking. If they’re parking on your drive itself, a fold-down or telescopic parking post stops it for good.
